Gandhi criticised the Modi government for turning a blind eye to the issue, saying that they are more concerned about retaining power than addressing the problems faced by the youth. “We have been continuously demanding that a strong and transparent system be created to stop paper leaks. But the Modi government is turning a blind eye to this – because they are not concerned about youth unemployment, but about their own power,” he said.

Gandhi also drew a connection between paper leaks and vote theft, suggesting that the BJP’s alleged involvement in both issues is part of a larger strategy to maintain power. “Unemployment is today’s biggest problem in the country, and it is directly linked to vote theft. The paper thieves know – even if the youth don’t get jobs, they will remain in power by stealing votes in elections,” he said.
Gandhi expressed solidarity with the youth, saying that he stands firmly with every student and youth in their fight for justice. “This is not just a fight for the youth’s jobs; this is a fight for justice and democracy,” he added.
The Congress has been vocal about the issue of paper leaks and vote theft, with Gandhi and other leaders repeatedly accusing the BJP of being involved in these issues. The UKSSSC paper leak has sparked widespread outrage, with many demanding action against those responsible.Hundreds of students from across Uttarakhand on Thursday protested against the recent paper leak in the UKSSSC graduate-level examination.
The state government has also formed an SIT, under the chairmanship of a retired judge, to investigate the paper leak in the government recruitment exam held on September 21, 2025.
